Are you ready to find “the one”?- Book Now

When should I start looking for my wedding dress?

We would recommend you start your journey 10-12 months before your big day as you need to take your time in finding the perfect style for you. As we work with some fabulous UK based designers, we can usually have made-to-order dresses available within 4-6 months from ordering. If you are in a hurry our designers all offer rush orders for a small fee.

Do I need to book an appointment to visit your boutique?

So that we can give each bride the best experience, all visits to the boutique are by appointment. You can book an appointment with us via the Book Now button or send a message to vicky@loveandloved.co.uk. We look forward to meeting you.

Absolutely. We have a gorgeous collection of British designed accessories to style your finished look. Hit the Book Now button to request an appointment or email vicky@loveandloved.co.uk.

Something has come up, how do I let you know I need to rearrange or cancel my appointment?

You can contact us via the Contact Us page or email us directly on vicky@loveandloved.co.uk. You can also reschedule your appointment via the link on your appointment confirmation email.

What should I expect during my appointment?

Expect to have fun! We appreciate for some, finding your dress can be really daunting or really exciting. However you are feeling you will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. We love helping brides find their perfect dress. We will help you when you need it and guide you through our collection of dresses working with you to find the perfect one.

What do I need to bring with me?

Just bringing yourself is perfect, so relax and get ready to enjoy your appointment. If you have a comfy strapless bra and nude underwear then we recommend you wear these for your appointment. If you already have your shoes or know the heel height you want to go for we recommend you bring them along. We only have a small selection of shoes to try on with the dresses. Please keep make up light and we request you do not wear fake tan as it will transfer to the dresses.

How many people can I bring with me?

We don’t like to make rules at Love & Loved so bring with you whoever you would like with you during this experience. Think about bringing the people whose opinions you trust the most and anyone who you feel is crucial to helping make a final decision. For those that can’t attend, reassure them that you can do a really special reveal the morning of your wedding day.

How many dresses can I try?

We have no restrictions at Love & Loved, we want you to feel relaxed during your appointment and try on all the styles you want in order to come to the right decision. We recommend you start with 5 dresses, we can then pull more based on how they make you feel. Our top tip is to know when to stop, you don’t want to be stuck in a dilemma as to which dress to pick. You can always check out our range of dresses on our website or social media and learn more about the designers we have selected so you have some idea as to what dresses you want to try first.

I want a dress I feel confident in, what size dresses do you stock?

All of our dresses are available to order in sizes UK4- UK28 and we carry a range of sizes from UK12-UK18 across our sample dresses in the boutique. Please trust our stylists to make the experience really special for you and take no notice of sizes, they vary compared to the usual highstreet sizing.

What happens when I find “the one”?

We love the moment when you find “the one” and will take time to celebrate with you. We will then take your measurements which are essential for finalising your order with our designers. We will take you through some paperwork, explaining the whole process. We require a 50% part payment on the day you say yes and the balance when your dress is ready to be sent to us from the designer (usually approx. 12 weeks before your wedding).

When will I need to pay for my dress?

All of our dresses are made to order. We require a 50% part payment on the day you say yes so that we can place your order with the designer. We will be in touch once the dress is ready to be sent from the designer to take the balance. You will then be invited back to try on your dress and make any plans for alterations.

Will my dress require any alterations and when will these happen?

While all of our dresses are made to order, in a size selected based on your measurements, they often require some alterations. Once your dress is ready to be sent by the designer and the final balance is paid, we will welcome you back to try on your dress. Seamstresses get booked up early and so we will be in touch with you 4-6 months before your wedding to offer you a series of alterations appointments with our recommended seamstress. Your first appointment will be scheduled 8-12 weeks before your wedding. We then book 2 further appointments to allow for any extra tweaks to get the perfect fit. Alteration appointments will take place at the boutique, usually on a Monday or Wednesday. If you require a weekend appointment you can book with the seamstress directly to meet with her at her own studio. You are not required to use our recommended seamstress. If you would prefer to make your own arrangements you will be invited to collect your dress when it arrives and take it away with you.

How much should I budget for my alterations?

The cost of alterations can vary depending on how much is required. The final cost will be agreed by you and the seamstress. As a guide, for standard alterations such as side seams and the hem you should expect to pay around £250/£350. Any alterations for additional embellishments or more detailed work will be quoted at the time.

What should I do with my dress after our big day?

There are a number of options available to you. You can have your dress professionally cleaned and preserved in a presentation box which we can arrange for you. Or we can help you re-purpose your wedding day outfit to be re-worn or you may choose to re-sell your dress.
